Unlimited: LondonArt's Textured Wallpaper, Sold by the Roll
Unlimited is LondonArt’s range of textured wallcoverings, sold by the standard roll rather than printed to the size of a wall. Each texture comes in its own set of colours; most are vinyl, on a non-woven or a fabric backing, and Oslo is linen, on a non-woven backing.
“Monochrome surfaces gain depth through textures inspired by silk, linen, and tactile weaves.”
A texture and a colour, by the roll
LondonArt describes Unlimited as “a collection of thirteen technical wallcoverings designed for contemporary architecture”. It uses wallcovering and wallpaper for the same products: its sheet for Sofia calls Sofia “a simple, essential wallpaper”.
Every texture is monochrome, in LondonArt’s word. A colourway, one colour version of a texture, keeps to one colour, or to close tones of one colour as in Florence’s stripes, and the interest comes from the surface: on the vinyls, an embossing, a relief pressed into the surface so that it stands up from it, and on Oslo, the linen itself. LondonArt names each colourway by a code, such as SOF101, and gives none of them a colour name.
LondonArt gives each texture its own embossing and colour range, and names its backing, the layer that goes against the wall, texture by texture. So the textures differ in material as well as in look, and the next section sets the materials out.
Unlimited is also bought differently. LondonArt’s printed materials, such as RAW, BOLD, GLASS, GREEN and SOUNDPROOF, carry a design from its catalogue, printed to order in Italy at the width and height of the wall. With Unlimited you choose a texture and one of its colourways, and it is sold by the standard roll, so an order is counted in rolls, as it is for Zambaiti Parati’s embossed wallpapers.
“Each subject has a unique embossing, colour palette and material support to suit the most demanding design requirements.”
Three constructions, one way of selling
LondonArt publishes a one-page data sheet for each texture; the current sheets are dated May 2025. Each names the material, its weight in grams per square metre (g/m²), the roll size and the pattern repeat, and most also name the adhesives LondonArt recommends and the fire classification. Across the range there are three constructions.
The fire results need reading with care. The Euroclass is the European reaction-to-fire classification under EN 13501-1 (EN marks a European standard): the letter is the class, the s figure the smoke rating and the d figure the flaming-droplets rating. Both vinyl constructions are class B with d0, no flaming droplets; for smoke, vinyl on a fabric backing is rated s1 and vinyl on a non-woven backing is rated s2. ASTM E 84 is the surface-burning test of ASTM International, the United States standards body, and LondonArt states Class A for all twelve vinyls.
We report each result under its own standard, as LondonArt states it, and convert none of them. European fire classifications are not directly equivalent to the Australian fire tests (AS/NZS 3837 and AS ISO 9705), and neither is the American one; under the National Construction Code, wall linings in some buildings need a Group Number tested to Australian standards. LondonArt publishes no Group Number for Unlimited. Where a project must meet the Code, tell us early, and we will obtain the technical documentation LondonArt holds.
| Construction | Textures | Weight | Euroclass | ASTM E 84 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vinyl on a fabric backing | Sofia, Florence, Bordeaux, Capri and Venice | 340 g/m² | B-s1,d0 | Class A |
| Vinyl on a non-woven backing | Helsinki, Madrid, Dublin, Copenaghen, Barcelona, Lisbon and Liverpool | 380 g/m² | B-s2-d0 | Class A |
| Linen on a non-woven backing | Oslo | 220 g/m² | Not stated | Not stated |
From LondonArt’s Unlimited data sheets, May 2025. Each texture’s sheet is linked from its entry below.
The sheets give no washability or cleaning advice, no light-fastness (resistance to fading in light), no list of rooms or uses for each texture, no lead time and no certificate beyond the fire results. Oslo's sheet gives no fire result at all. If a project needs one of those facts, ask us, and we will obtain the documentation LondonArt holds.

Contract, retail and the home
LondonArt intends Unlimited for “contract, retail, and residential spaces” and lists it under its contract wallcoverings. Contract is the trade’s word for commercial interiors such as hotels, offices and restaurants.
- Contract: hotel rooms, offices and meeting rooms, restaurants
- Retail: shops and showrooms
- Residential: living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and studies
Wall in Love’s examples of the three kinds of space LondonArt names; none implies a rating.
LondonArt publishes no washability or wear rating for Unlimited and names no wet-area or outdoor use. Where a wall will be knocked and cleaned often, BOLD, LondonArt’s vinyl on cotton cloth, has tested washability (see the guide to commercial-grade wallpaper). For showers, basin splashbacks and external walls, LondonArt makes GLASS with the Blue Glass Finish (see the guide to waterproof wallpaper).
Choose Unlimited when a wall wants texture and colour from a roll; choose a printed material when it wants a design, or a rating that Unlimited’s sheets do not give.
By the roll, not to the wall
| LondonArt’s printed materials, such as RAW, BOLD, GLASS, GREEN and SOUNDPROOF | Unlimited | |
|---|---|---|
| What you choose | A design from the catalogue, and the material it is printed on | A texture, and one of its colourways |
| How it is supplied | Printed to order in Italy at the width and height of the wall | In standard rolls of fixed width and length |
| What the quote follows | The wall | The rolls the wall takes |
| Roll | Textures |
|---|---|
| 130 cm by 19.5 m (25 m²) | Sofia, Florence, Bordeaux, Capri and Venice |
| 100 cm by 25 m (25 m²) | Helsinki, Madrid, Copenaghen, Lisbon and Liverpool |
| 65 cm by 38.5 m (25 m²) | Dublin |
| 100 cm, 106 cm or 70 cm wide, each 10 m long (10, 10.6 or 7 m²) | Barcelona |
| 93 cm by 15 m (14 m²) | Oslo |
Rolls are cut into strips and hung side by side. Twelve sheets give a pattern repeat of 0 cm, Florence's with the note “Tone-on-tone 13 cm stripes”. A repeat of 0 cm is a free match: there is no pattern to line up from one strip to the next. Venice's sheet gives a repeat of 0.60 cm.
LondonArt recommends three adhesives on its sheets: its own glue, Henkel’s Metylan Ovalit and Mapei’s Adesilex MT32.
Every wall is quoted
Send us the wall’s width and height, with the texture and colourway you have in mind, and we quote it, in Australian dollars and excluding GST (the goods and services tax); for a product sold by the roll, the quote follows the number of rolls the wall takes. Ring 0411 178 666 or write to sales@wallinlove.com.au, or ask from any design page.
Check the colour against a physical sample before you commit: LondonArt recommends checking “with the sample book before confirming the order”. Our showroom is at 106 Barkly Street, St Kilda.
Bring a texture into the project
A texture is judged in the hand and in the room’s own light. Ask us for a sample, try a texture on your own wall, or browse the range.
